Ann MacFaul
I joined Newmillerdam WI soon after it became established 8 years ago ,I have lived in Newmillerdam for 38 years and after retirement wanted to become more involved in the community .
I took over from Lynne as president this year (2023) over the last 8 years we have established a good group of local ladies with a strong supportive committee.
Our meetings are interesting and cover a wide range of topics and interests but we are always open to suggestions which our members may have to broaden the range of topics we cover. Our Aim is to be inclusive and welcoming to new members who wish to become part of our community and continue to grow as a group. Newmillerdam WI is part of the West Yorkshire federation , there are opportunities to become involved in the wider organization and attend meetings and events at West Yorkshire and national level. In my spare time since retirement I spend time in my garden with family traveling and walking our

I joined Newmillerdam WI in Sept 21 just after covid. I had taken early retirement and decided I wanted to make new friends and widen my horizons. My hobbies include swimming, socialising and also being involved with a local semi professional football club.

After 5 years of being president of this lovely bunch of ladies I have stepped down to Vice president. I aim to support the committee to help the Newmillerdam WI continue to flourish and inspire local women.

Hi everyone, my name is Joan Cook, I am a retired infant teacher.
I enjoy socialising with my family and friends and spending quality time with my hubby, walking and exploring the Yorkshire Dales, where we have a static caravan.

I’m a retired chartered accountant and I joined Newmillerdam WI in 2019. I became treasurer in 2022 and am enjoying helping the other committee members ensure this welcoming group continues to prosper as well as keeping an eye on the finances.
I enjoy playing walking cricket, Aqua aerobics, Tai Chi classes and spending time with my family.

Having moved to the area in 2017, I joined the Newmillerdam WI to get to know people and the local area. This is a welcoming and active group and I have made many friends. My main interests include bridge and gardening along with dining out experiences and extra activities organised by the WI. Recently, I was persuaded to join the WI Committee as a Joint Events Coordinator. I'm looking forward to an interesting, varied and fulfilling future with all our lovely members.

I joined the Newmillerdam WI when it first started and have enjoyed seeing it grow and flourish.
My interests include textiles, travelling, gardening, cooking and singing. I use these to arrange social events for the group, any ideas are very welcome !
